Fostering Services: Children Deserve to Live And Cared
Poverty is not an excuse to kill an innocent life. Children have no sins that make their lives miserable, especially in their younger years. They deserved to be happy and to appreciate everything in this world. A famous hero once said, “Children are the hope of a nation”. The statement has a broad meaning, and this article will dive deep into what it means.
Foster care is a temporary adoption or living situation for kids whose parents can’t take care of them. Children need care and attention, making foster care adoption secure for the young generations. While in foster care, children live with the following:
- Live with relatives
- Foster families
- In group facilities
Nearly half of the children who join the foster care system returned to their parent or primary caretaker.
The goal of foster care
The goal of foster care is to ensure kids live a stable life. Foster care is a temporary solution that ends once a parent gets their life back on track or anyone from the relative or guardian, or even an adoptive family agrees to raise the child involved.
Research has shown repeatedly that each child needs a solid and unshakable attachment to at least one parenting adult and the relationship is the key to the young development and well-being of a person.
What does the foster child mean?
A foster child is a minor child taken into state custody and placed with a state-licensed caregiver. These children can be of any of these:
- Race
- Age
- Gender
Children in foster care have been removed from their homes because of safety reasons, and they have experienced some degree of trauma or loss.
Why are children in foster care?
Children enter foster care for different reasons, such as:
- Families are in crisis
- Abandoned, etc.
These children may range in age from infants to teens. These young people have experienced unsafe conditions, such as:
- Abuse
- Neglect
Parents can’t care for them
As a result, these children will be removed from their care or custody. Some hardships that these children have experienced that put them in foster care are due to the absence of family.
Fortunately, the government has implemented a law for children in care to maintain contact with the family, when they have, such as:
- Family
- Parents
- Siblings
It is an essential strategy to listen to young people in care for agencies seeking to boost their child welfare experiences and results in foster care.
